About Us

MANAVADHIKAR JAGRUKTA SANGATHAN/HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS ORGANIZATION is a social organization devoted to promote awareness among the various sections of society about their rights, registered under the Societies Registration Act 21, 1860.
HUMAN RIGHTS are the same for all people regardless of sex, religion, race, social or other status. We all are born free and equal in dignity and rights. HUMAN RIGHTS belong to people simply because there are some inherent birth-rights of all human beings like Right to Life and Livelihood, Property and Security therefor.
Spreading human rights literacy among various sections of society and promoting awareness of safeguards available for the protection of these rights through publications, the media, seminars and other available means are the functions ofTHE NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION, as per section 12 (h) of The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
It is said that awareness of human rights is largely limited to the educated section of society. Therefore, it is necessary to promote awareness about human rights for all of us. Human rights are important because they focus on the dignity and protection of human beings and their groups. We learn about standing up for our own rights and to respect the rights of others.
According to Section 12 (i) of The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, it is also the function of THE NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION to encourage the efforts of non governmental organizations and institutions working in the field of human rights.
MANAVADHIKAR JAGRUKTA SANGATHAN/HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS ORGANIZATION as a non governmental organization is doing its best to promote, protect and defend human rights wherever these rights are violated.

To these ends, this organization mainly focuses on the rural and urban poor and the uneducated sections of society. Hence its goal is to fan out and embrace such deprived sections of society.
